Local Attractions of Tamborine Mountain

Tamborine Mountain is in the Gold Coast Hinterland and has a subtropical to temperate climate. It is a plateau, 550 metres above sea level, 4kms wide and 8kms long and orginated as a lava flow from the Mt Warning volcano, some 22 million years ago.

It is a flora and fauna sanctuary featuring Albert lyrebirds, scrub turkeys, lorikeets, bower birds and whip birds.
Deep in the National Parks are stands of Piccabeen palms and towering fig trees with elkhorns, staghorns, crows nest ferns and orchids competing for space. There are 9 sections of National Park for your enjoyment; each with its own character and picinic facilities provided. Queensland's first National Park is here.

Markets, collectables, galleries and restaurants also abound on the plateau.
The scenic drives available are amazing and feature country lanes with produce stalls at farmers' gates.
The Information Centre at Dougherty Park at North Tamborine can provide all information needed for a wonderful holiday in this picturesque and unspoilt area.

On most weekends of the month, Local producers markets or country markets can be found at the showgrounds, Tamborine Mountain Primary School or Thunderbird Park.

Just 30 minutes by road away from the Mountain are the Gold Coast Theme Parks of Dreamworld, Movie World and Wet n Wild.
40 minutes by road away from Surfers Paradise beaches, Seaworld and all the fun and attractions of the Gold Coast.
